⚠️*Potential for low lying areas to be flooded at high tides tomorrow.*⚠️

High tide around 10:30am, accompanied with huge swell coming straight up the Irish sea and will fill the Clyde pushed by a 50mph southerly wind.
Usual Areas: Sannox Stepping Stones, Corrie Shore road, Pirates Cove, Fishermans Walk, wee Brodick Jetty, Cordon, low lying roads around the south end and west side. Possible flooding in Lochranza too.

Always hard to judge the extent of these events. 3.6m waves are forecast off the south of Arran, that’s a lot of water, a lot of energy!
Advice: don’t drive through it, wait and hour or two and the tide will go out and then you can see the debris/damage on the road.

Not saying it will happen,, but these are my thoughts 🙂

update: SEPA agree, and have issued a Flood Alert for Ayrshire and Arran tomorrow:

A FLOOD ALERT has been issued for Ayrshire and Arran.

River levels are expected to rise throughout the region on Tuesday due to heavy rain throughout the day, and will remain high into Wednesday. Localised flooding from rivers affecting low-lying land, roads and isolated properties, and disruption to travel, is possible. On Tuesday, surface water flooding may also occur.

Wave overtopping may occur in coastal areas around the high tides on Tuesday.
