Where to look on Arran

Face north, away from lights. The north end is best: Lochranza, Catacol and the shore road towards Laggan, with a clear view over the Sound of Bute. Machrie Moor and Blackwaterfoot work well on the west side. Give your eyes 20 minutes to adjust, and take a camera — sensors pick up colour your eyes can't.
